How much base should I put down for my Patio?
Ideally 4”- 6” of ¾ crush gravel put down in 2”-3” lifts and tamped will be sufficient for a normal patio. Using .5” -1” of screenings on top will allow you to lay the stone level or with a small slope away from your house. How big of an area will 1 yard of crush or screenings cover?
A yard is 27 Cubic feet so depending on the thickness, coverage will vary. Using the Landscape Material Calculator you can accurately determine the amount of aggregates you will need.
